Bohemian composer Dvořák's spirited Carnival overture lends itself to a program celebrating both the iconic and the obscure. The Philadelphia Orchestra's own concertmaster, David Kim, returns to Paducah to perform Mendelssohn's beloved masterpiece for violin and orchestra. Maestro Ponti conducts the first symphony by an American woman composer to gain public attention, Amy Beach's Gaelic Symphony.
